Why you should have your grand exit after your ceremony and not your reception

Here's three reasons that will help you, your guests, and your photographer!

1. Lighting
Grand exits at the end of receptions can be TOUGH when it comes to lighting, because it's literally pitch black outside. If you have your grand exit right after your ceremony, the lighting will consist of nice, natural daylight, allowing you to use other props like bubbles, streamers, or flower petals.
2. Guests
If you have your grand exit immediately after your ceremony, everyone will be a part of it! Whereas, if you have it at the end of your reception, many of your guests will have already have left. Additionally, with the ability to use other props other than sparklers due to it still being light outside, there is less worry for guests to get the timing right for when the sparklers need to be lit. Overall, there's less worry about human error if using other props like bubbles.
3. Affordability & Timeline
These last two go hand-in-hand. If you have your grand exit right after your ceremony, you can hire a photographer anywhere from 1-4 hours LESS than you would if you wanted them to stay until the end of the reception. Often times, the reception can go for four or more hours, adding (in some cases) extra, unneeded time to the photographer's timeline, driving the cost of their packages up significantly.
